Last week, I read in our local newspaper that the Humane Society needed volunteers to play with the animals to keep them from becoming feral. Fortunately, I have two little girls who adore cats and dogs.
So, on Friday, Maggie got to spend half an hour cuddling kittens while Lena walked an extremely mild-mannered chihuahua.
The girls were reluctant to leave, but I promised we would make our visit to the Humane Society a weekly tradition.
